Wire drawing equipment

The wire drawing system was developed and built at the Institute of Materials Science. The equipment consists of a chain drawing machine with a maximum tensile force of 17 kN. With this system it is possible to draw wires from various materials (including steel, titanium, aluminum, magnesium) from a maximum initial diameter of 8 mm to a minimum diameter of 0.3 mm. The machine has a maximum working length of 2.5 m and has been extended with a motorized wire winding device. With this it is possible to produce wires of any length.
