Underwater Technology Centre Hannover
The research projects of the Underwater Technology Centre Hannover (UWTH) are in the fields of electron beam, cutting, welding and water jet technologies as well as corrosion and environmental testing. The diverse activities range from the development of thermal cutting technologies for the decommissioning of nuclear installations under water, underwater welding, nonvacuum electron beam welding and cutting to stripping and cleaning with dry ice laser techniques up to water jet cutting of bone materials for orthopedics. As part of the corrosion test area R & D tasks as well as services in the field of corrosion of metallic materials are performed. The extensive equipment at the Underwater Technology Center Hannover includes a chemical laboratory as well as different climate chambers.
