Creep testing system for non-isothermal creep tests

With this facility, creep tests of high-temperature alloys can be conducted, allowing for both high maximum temperatures and thermal cycles with high heating and cooling rates, all while under mechanical load in a vacuum. This enables the study of material behavior and microstructural changes under varying operating conditions and frequent temperature fluctuations.

Technical equipment

  • 4-circuit resistance heating for uniform sample heating
  • Tests at up to 1150 °C
  • Temperature gradient along the sample max. 3 K/mm
  • Heating rate: 0.5 K/s to 25 K/s; cooling rate 5 K/s (from 1150 °C to 600 °C)
  • Molybdenum sample holder with water cooling
  • Quick access door for easy sample change
  • Borosilicate glass window allows use of video extensometer
  • High vacuum 10-6 mbar
  • Can be used in conjunction with Zwick Z010 testing machine
