High speed camera

The Institute of Materials Science has a high-speed camera from Photron. The FASTCAM SA5

has a resolution in the megapixel range and a highly sensitive image sensor that enables clear images to be taken even in poor lighting conditions. The maximum frame rate is 775,000 fps (frames per second).

The FASTCAM SA5 can be connected to a laptop via the Gigabit Ethernet connection and has both dual composite video and HD-SDI BNC outputs. The CAVILUX HF laser module from Cavitar can also be attached to the high-speed camera. The CAVILUX HF is a powerful pulsed diode laser light source that is used to optimize the lighting conditions.
