Induction device for underwater welding applications

Induction heating technology is used at the Institute of Materials Science as a pre- and post-treatment process to improve the quality of weld seams during underwater welding. An inductor is available for this purpose, which has been converted for use under water. By using induction technology for heat treatment, higher-strength steels can be used and impermissible stress peaks in the heat-affected zone can be avoided.
