The UWTH team from the Institute of Materials Science took part in the Hanover Marathon 2024 last Sunday.

By means of a relay consisting of a team of 6 employees of the UWTH department (Thomas Hassel, Lena Kreie, Torben Carstensen, David Kramer, Yusuf Faqiri and Christian Mills), the marathon distance of 42.195 km could be divided among 6 runners. The relay team reached the finish line after a good 3:42:22 h, placing 164th out of 761 relay teams. One employee, Leandro Vaccari, was motivated to compete over half the marathon distance. He proudly reached the finish line with a time of 2:05:32 h. This was a great team performance and shows that the employees not only work together excellently in scientific terms, they also perform at a high level in sporting terms!
