On 18.11.2024, the “Mädchen-und-Technik-Kongress” took place at the mechanical engineering campus in Garbsen. On this day, young students in grades 7-10 had the opportunity to get to know the world of mechanical engineering through various projects. This year, the IW once again took part with a project. First, we explained the basics of welding to the 23 participating students. Afterwards, they welded their own creative animal shapes from nuts, washers and bolts and could proudly take them home. The project was supervised by research employees Friederike Rümelin and Lena Kreie. University student Franka Hassel assisted during the execution.
