Emission Spectrometry

At the IW, various emission spectrometric methods are available for determining the alloy contents of metallic materials. Using optical emission spectrometers, the proportions of chemical elements in macroscopic solid samples of steel, aluminum, magnesium, nickel, copper and other technical materials are determined down to the ppm range. The ICP-OES also enables the highly accurate wet-chemical analysis of the composition of electrolytes.
