Resorbable Magnesium Alloys

The development of resorbable magnesium alloys enables their use in various implant applications that need to fulfill a temporary support function. These include screws, stents and wires that can be used as sutures or cerclages, among others. The advantage lies in the body-compatible degradation of the magnesium alloy, without the need to remove the implant in a further operation that is stressful for the patient once healing is complete.
