Composite Extrusion of Hybrid Materials

The right material in the right place enables components that are both lightweight and locally reinforced for heavy loads. The production and characterization of material composites, for example of aluminum and steel, aluminum and copper, or aluminum and titanium, is a research focus in the department of "Biomedical Engineering and Lightweight Construction". Several process variants of composite extrusion are used to create metallurgical bonds between different materials.
