The acoustic emission analysis system can be used to detect, record and analyze high-frequency ultrasonic emissions. These are generated by defects, such as crack initiation and progression. The number, amplitude, overshoot and other characteristics of the recorded events can be used to detect and characterize damage at an early stage. By using the information from several sensors, it is also possible to locate signal sources via runtime analyses.
