Hydrogen charging

The Institute of Materials Science is conducting various investigations into the behaviour of hydrogen in metals and the damage mechanisms caused. In order to provide a reliable basis for investigating the behaviour, a hydrogen loading device has been set up with which hydrogen can be introduced into metals in a targeted manner. The loading is carried out in pressurised gas at elevated temperatures to improve diffusivity.
