Resonance test rigs for assessing fatigue strength

Bending and torsion test rigs are used for testing components for durability. All types of shafts, such as drive shafts, crankshafts, and camshafts, can be tested.

The test rigs are designed as electromagnetic resonance test rigs for applying high cyclic loads. The component is excited at its resonance frequency, which is also the testing frequency.

If damage occurs to the sample, the resonance frequency changes and the test rig automatically shuts down. Advantages of the system include low energy consumption, high testing frequencies, and early crack detection.

Technical details:

  • Max. dynamic bending moment: ± 3000 Nm
  • Max. dynamic torsional moment: ± 6000 Nm
  • Max. clamping diameter: approx. 85 mm
  • Testing frequency range: 15 – 80 Hz (dependent on the specimen)
